3M DATA is seeking a Senior Backup and Storage Engineer to lead enterprise backup and disaster recovery operations in Riyadh. The role requires 6-8 years of experience with Commvault, storage systems, and virtualization platforms, and is open to Saudi nationals only.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions using Commvault.
- Administer and maintain the Commvault infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize backup and restore operations.
- Perform proactive health checks, system tuning, and performance optimization.
- Manage storage policies, retention strategies, media management, and lifecycle operations.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance disaster recovery (DR) procedures and strategies.
- Configure and manage HyperMetro and HyperReplication solutions for DR environments.
- Conduct periodic recovery testing, backup validation, and disaster recovery drills.
- Integrate and support Commvault across enterprise infrastructure including VMware, Nutanix, Windows/Linux servers, and databases.
- Produce regular operational, compliance, and capacity planning reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 6–8 years of hands on experience supporting enterprise backup and recovery environments.
- Strong expertise in Commvault administration, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with SAN/NAS storage technologies.
- Experience with enterprise database backup and recovery strategies.
- Experience with Disaster Recovery planning and implementation.
- Experience with VMware and Nutanix platforms.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.

About the Role
- We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Backup and Storage engineer to lead the administration, optimization, and support of enterprise backup and disaster recovery environment.
- The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Commvault, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and disaster recovery strategies.
Key Responsibilities Backup Administration & Operations
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions using Commvault.
- Administer and maintain the Commvault infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize backup and restore operations.
- Perform proactive health checks, system tuning, and performance optimization.
- Ensure successful backup completion and timely resolution of issues.
- Manage storage policies, retention strategies, media management, and lifecycle operations.
- Implement and maintain offline backup policies and long term retention solutions.
- Monitor storage utilization and support capacity planning initiatives.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Develop, maintain, and enhance disaster recovery (DR) procedures and strategies.
- Configure and manage HyperMetro and HyperReplication solutions for DR environments.
- Conduct periodic recovery testing, backup validation, and disaster recovery drills.
- Ensure backup integrity and successful data recoverability.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with defined RPO and RTO objectives.
Infrastructure Integration
- Integrate and support Commvault across enterprise infrastructure, including VMware vCenter and ESXi, Nutanix environments, Windows and Linux servers, physical and virtual platforms, databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2, and others, SAN, NAS, FC, and vSAN storage environments.
- Collaborate closely with storage, virtualization, database, and network teams to deliver reliable backup services.
Implementation, Upgrades & Maintenance
- Install, configure, and upgrade Commvault software and associated infrastructure components.
- Implement backup solutions for new applications, servers, databases, and virtual environments.
- Execute patch management and version upgrades in accordance with industry best practices.
- Administer tape libraries, including hardware troubleshooting, software upgrades, and media management.
Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
- Produce regular operational, compliance, and capacity planning reports.
- Analyze trends, identify risks, and recommend infrastructure improvements.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, configurations, procedures, and recovery runbooks.
Incident & Change Management
- Manage incidents and service requests in line with agreed SLAs.
- Participate in change management and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with vendors and support teams for advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 6–8 years of hands on experience supporting enterprise backup and recovery environments.
