Senior Backend Software Engineer, Robot Fleet Orchestration

5+ years of production software engineering experience.

Experience building and shipping production software that solves search, routing, scheduling, planning, or optimization problems.

Familiarity with algorithmic problem spaces such as multi-agent path finding, vehicle routing, constraint solving, graph search, or similar.

Experience designing and maintaining production data models or schemas, including making changes safely as systems evolve.

Hands-on experience with relational databases, especially SQL or Postgres.

Experience designing, building, and supporting APIs used by other services, systems, or teams.

Ability to make practical system design decisions and understand the tradeoffs involved.

Strong ability to work through ambiguity, identify the right questions to ask, and move problems forward independently.

Product and technical judgment, with the ability to contribute ideas about what should be built while executing on current team priorities.

Experience with warehouse automation or AMR fleet management.

Proficiency in Go.

Experience operating Postgres at scale.

Experience with NATS or other message-based/pub-sub systems.

Experience supporting systems where software issues can affect physical-world operations.

Compensation for this position will be set based on the candidate's experience level and location. The posted salary band is applicable only to the San Francisco Bay Area and is subject to change.
