What You Will Do:
- Take ownership of components of the EDealer platform, including the backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power dealer websites at scale.
- Make sound technical and architectural decisions within your areas of ownership, balancing delivery speed, maintainability, reliability, and performance.
- Design and build features that handle inventory, pricing, incentives, and lead flows, with accuracy and scale in mind from the start.
- Work with product owners, managers, and cross functional teams to deliver projects that further the business.
- Review pull requests and participate in production deployments, holding a high bar for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Support developed solutions in production, including incident response, root cause analysis, and follow through on preventative fixes.
- Raise the capability of the team through code review, technical guidance, and shared engineering practices.
- Contribute to platform health, including observability, query and API performance, technical debt reduction, and engineering standards.
- Leverage AI driven development practices as part of your everyday workflow, and help raise the bar for how the team applies them.
What You Will Need:
5+ years of professional Java experience, including 3+ years with Spring Boot, with demonstrated experience operating at a senior level.
5+ years of experience with SQL and relational databases, including reasoning about query behaviour and performance.
Professional experience with Git, Maven, and modern software development workflows.
Strong understanding of object oriented design, API design, and maintainable software architecture.
Ability to produce clean code and follow project conventions.
Strong automated testing practices, including unit and integration testing.
