Role Overview
Build and evolve scalable Android SDKs used in real-world environments.
Lead technical initiatives while remaining hands-on with architecture, coding, code reviews, and SDK development.
Contribute to mobile platform strategy, engineering culture, and long-term technology direction.
What You Will Do
- Implement features in the existing Android SDK using Java and Kotlin.
- Fix bugs and improve SDK stability.
- Migrate legacy Java code to modern Kotlin.
- Contribute to new SDK versions built primarily with Kotlin Multiplatform.
- Build binding layers for Flutter and React Native.
- Optimize map rendering with Mapbox Maps and/or Google Maps.
- Collaborate across SDK, platform, and cross-functional teams.
What You Bring
- 8 to 10 years of professional Android development experience.
- Deep Kotlin and Java expertise in large, complex Android codebases.
- Strong Kotlin-Java interoperability knowledge.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals for designing, debugging, refactoring, and improving complex systems.
- Experience with agentic AI development workflows, including OpenAI Codex or similar tools.
