Role overview
Lead the Product & Program Analytics team supporting curriculum, product, and intervention strategy.
This is a player-coach role with approximately 60–70% people and team management and 30–40% hands-on analytics.
The role reports to the VP of Data & Analytics and is part of a virtual organization.
Team leadership and development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of one staff data scientist and two analysts.
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on support for high-stakes analytics and data science projects.
- Build the team's AI fluency and use Claude Code, Claude Cowork, and related tools to accelerate workflows.
Analytics and data science
- Own program analytics measuring curriculum performance and student success against DIBELS, iReady, STAR, and other benchmarks.
- Analyze intervention effectiveness and inform which interventions to develop.
- Own product analytics covering feature adoption, student engagement, and usage patterns.
- Help develop the experimentation platform and establish experimental design and analysis practices.
- Complete selected end-to-end analyses, prototypes, and high-priority ad hoc requests.
Program management and partnership
- Own sprint management, project execution, planning, delivery, and retrospectives for the Product & Program Analytics team.
- Partner with Product and Academics stakeholders to translate business and academic questions into analytical initiatives.
- Collaborate with the VP of Data & Analytics on the strategic roadmap, priorities, and timelines.
- Communicate analytical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
Required qualifications
- 7–10 or more years of analytics and data science experience in ed-tech or another relevant technology industry.
- 2–4 or more years as a senior manager in a data analytics or data science function.
- Meaningful individual contributor experience in both analytics and data science.
- Experience managing and developing analysts or data scientists.
- High proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience using Tableau or comparable BI tools, dbt, and modern cloud data warehouses.
- Proficiency in statistical modeling, experimental design, and rigorous analytical methods.
- Hands-on experience building agentic workflows, Claude Skills, or LLM automations using Claude Code and Claude Cowork.
- Experience with Agile or sprint methodologies in an analytics context.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts as clear business actions and manage multiple workflows.
Preferred qualifications
- Background in curriculum analytics, learning science, or ed-tech product analytics.
- Experience with student, education, or learning data and familiarity with PII handling requirements.
- Experience applying experimentation methods and best practices.
Compensation
- The listed salary is $175,000.
- The compensation package also includes equity and employee benefits.
