Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain consolidated economic model for Strategic Business Planning process
- Provide economic modeling, analytical, and project management support for strategic planning programs
- Perform error free financial analysis to support site, cross site, or corporate projects
- Work cross functionally with operating site teams and corporate technical services
- Pressure test others' models, analysis, and recommendations
- Prepare communication materials for senior executives up to COO and SLT level
- Assist with due diligence for Mergers and Acquisitions
- Identify cost savings opportunities and build full potential cost models
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, accounting, finance, or related field
- 4 7 years of experience in the mining industry
- 2+ years of experience in financial and strategic modeling in asset intensive industry
- Expert level skills in Excel
- Proficiency with PowerPoint
- Understanding of mine operations and KPIs
- Ability to travel frequently to remote mine sites (up to 2 weeks out of 4)
- CFA/CPA or MBA preferred
- Working knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, or French is a major asset

Job Summary
- Supports Kinross in making operational and strategic decisions through analysis, modelling and impactful communication.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining the consolidated economic model for the Strategic Business Planning Process.
- Requires coordination between financial and technical teams at operating sites and corporate office.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide economic modelling, analytical and project management support for strategic planning programs.
- Develop and maintain consolidated economic model of SBP processes, including templates and integration with Finance Budget and Forecast Models.
- Perform error free and insightful analysis supporting site, cross site or Corporate projects.
- Work cross functionally with operating site teams and corporate technical services teams.
- Build economic analyses and recommend value enhancing solutions supporting multi million dollar decisions.
- Pressure test others’ models, analysis and recommendations.
- Explain and present complex information to senior executives up to COO and SLT level.
- Support and lead analysis and preparation of communication materials for SBP, Strategic Business Cases, and AFEs.
- Assist with non standard requests and identify solutions.
- Contribute technical advice and insights to projects and studies.
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Manage flow of information between sites and drive discussions around best practices.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, accounting or finance or related field.
- Additional specialized education (CFA/CPA), masters level degree (MBA) or equivalent beneficial.
- Four to seven years of experience in mining industry, preferably progressive in project/operations environment.
- Two or more years of experience with financial and strategic modeling in asset intensive industry.
- Expert level skills in Excel: ability to build financial models and perform analysis.
- Proficiency with PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of a second language (Spanish, Portuguese, or French) is a major asset.
- Understanding of mine operations and operating KPIs.
- Operations and strategy analysis experience including developing financial and full potential models.
- Understanding of financial statements and mining concepts.
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skill set.
- Proven team leadership skills and/or project management ability.
Compensation And Total Rewards
- Base salary range CAD 90,000 to CAD 120,000 plus target Short Term Incentive bonus of 25% and group benefit coverage.
