Role overview
Provide senior database administration expertise within Carnival UK's technology department.
Support operational and project delivery across the organisation's shore and ship database environments.
Key responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise across database technologies.
- Manage database security, risk, compliance, capacity, performance, monitoring, backups, and replication.
- Manage relationships with external database vendors.
- Act as a senior escalation point for incidents and problems.
- Lead investigation, root cause analysis, and technical improvement activities.
- Lead database administration, support, maintenance, and continuous service improvement.
- Support database technologies across shore and ship environments.
Work arrangement
- The role is full-time and fixed-term.
- Hybrid working is available, including up to two days from home.
What you'll bring
- Experience supporting enterprise-level production databases, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, is required.
- Experience with ITIL and change management is required; ServiceNow experience is advantageous.
