Job Overview

As a Senior Analyst, Cyber Security Operations, you will play a critical role in safeguarding LPL Financial Corp's digital assets and infrastructure. This position involves advanced threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and continuous improvement of security operations to protect against evolving cyber threats. Responsibilities:

Perform advanced analysis of security events and alerts from various security tools (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, etc.) to identify, investigate, and respond to potential security incidents.

Lead incident response efforts, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis, collaborating with internal teams and external partners as necessary.

Conduct proactive threat hunting activities to identify advanced persistent threats (APTs) and sophisticated attack techniques targeting LPL Financial Corp.

Develop, implement, and maintain security monitoring use cases, playbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance detection and response capabilities.

Participate in vulnerability management activities, including scanning, analysis, prioritization, and tracking remediation efforts.

Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and tools to improve the overall security posture and operational efficiency.

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts within the Cyber Security Operations team.

Generate comprehensive reports on security incidents, trends, and operational metrics for management review.

Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to inform security strategy and operations.

Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 security incident response coverage as required.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

5+ years of experience in a dedicated cybersecurity operations role, with a focus on incident response, security monitoring, or threat analysis.

Understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., FINRA, SEC, PCI DSS).

Expertise in security information and event management (SIEM) platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel) for alert correlation, log analysis, and dashboard creation. Proficiency with endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint). Understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), cloud environments (AWS, Azure), and common attack vectors. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and data analysis.

Relevant industry certifications such as GIAC GCIH, GCIA, GPEN, OSCP, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to lead and mentor less experienced team members.
