Role overview
The University of Guelph’s Computing and Communications Services department is hiring a Senior Analyst, Cloud Infrastructure.
The role provides technical work supporting cloud infrastructure, including Azure, AWS, and related technologies.
The position covers analysis, design, configuration, development, testing, change management, release management, support, and maintenance.
The role reports to the Manager, Systems Management and contributes to cloud technology projects and operational support.
Cloud infrastructure responsibilities
- Own the University’s Microsoft Azure environment, including strategic planning, architecture, optimization, security, reliability, scalability, cost effectiveness, and daily operations.
- Lead analysis, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Support Azure AD/Entra ID and connectivity to hybrid Active Directory systems and domains.
- Transition on-premises systems to cloud infrastructure where feasible and aligned with the digital roadmap.
- Plan and perform cloud infrastructure updates, configuration, change management, and release management.
- Monitor cloud usage, maintain backups, perform restores, and recommend improvements to provisioning and architecture.
