The Opportunity
- Zurich Canada is looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst, Auto Pricing Personal Lines to support the pricing process for the Personal Lines Auto business.
- This role contributes to rate changes, filing, and communications with internal partners.
- Zurich follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week of in person presence.
What you will do
- Under moderate supervision, support the pricing of new business and renewal portfolios.
- Assist in the preparation of rate analyses, indications, trend reviews, and rate impact studies.
- Support interactions related to rate filings, governance, and internal reviews, with guidance from senior actuaries.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and documentation of pricing models, tools, and reports.
- Build an understanding of key drivers of loss costs, premiums, and portfolio performance.
- Assist in monitoring portfolio results and profitability for new and renewal business.
- Support Product and Underwriting teams by providing data driven analyses and insights.
- Participate in the testing, implementation, and validation of pricing algorithms and rating platform changes.
- Stay informed on regulatory and market developments relevant to auto pricing.
- Operate in accordance with Zurich underwriting guidelines, pricing standards, and procedures.
Job Qualifications
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree OR Bachelor's Degree.
- 3 4 years of experience in an actuarial or analytical role, preferably within Personal Lines insurance.
- Progress toward actuarial designation (ACAS or equivalent international certification).
- Exposure to auto pricing in one or more provinces (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret results.
- Developing verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain analytical findings to non technical stakeholders with support.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English is required.
Salary Range
- The salary range for this position is 81,000 – 131,000 CAD per year.
