The Opportunity

  • Zurich Canada is looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst, Auto Pricing Personal Lines to support the pricing process for the Personal Lines Auto business.
  • This role contributes to rate changes, filing, and communications with internal partners.
  • Zurich follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week of in person presence.

What you will do

  • Under moderate supervision, support the pricing of new business and renewal portfolios.
  • Assist in the preparation of rate analyses, indications, trend reviews, and rate impact studies.
  • Support interactions related to rate filings, governance, and internal reviews, with guidance from senior actuaries.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and documentation of pricing models, tools, and reports.
  • Build an understanding of key drivers of loss costs, premiums, and portfolio performance.
  • Assist in monitoring portfolio results and profitability for new and renewal business.
  • Support Product and Underwriting teams by providing data driven analyses and insights.
  • Participate in the testing, implementation, and validation of pricing algorithms and rating platform changes.
  • Stay informed on regulatory and market developments relevant to auto pricing.
  • Operate in accordance with Zurich underwriting guidelines, pricing standards, and procedures.

Job Qualifications

  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree OR Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3 4 years of experience in an actuarial or analytical role, preferably within Personal Lines insurance.
  • Progress toward actuarial designation (ACAS or equivalent international certification).
  • Exposure to auto pricing in one or more provinces (preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret results.
  • Developing verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to explain analytical findings to non technical stakeholders with support.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English is required.

Salary Range

  • The salary range for this position is 81,000 – 131,000 CAD per year.
