Senior Accounting Analyst General & Technical Accounting

Summary

Responsibilities

• Assist in the month-end and annual accounting close. Prepare monthly standard and adjusting journal entries.
• Prepare monthly Financial Statements and monthly account analysis.
• Analyze and reconcile various general ledger accounts for accuracy and timely resolution of variances.
• Reconcile various intercompany accounts and submission of payment requests.
• Prepare quarterly and annually MTA formatted Financial Statements, which include Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) and footnotes.
• Perform various accounting functions within General & Technical Accounting.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of PeopleSoft General Ledger System.
• Working knowledge of Hyperion.
• Proficiency in and/or ability to learn communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in and/or ability to learn organizational and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in and/or ability to learn to work with all internal levels within a given organization.
• Proficiency in and/or ability to learn to communicate and interact well with external agencies.
• Proficiency in and/or ability to learn completing short- and long-term projects effectively and as efficiently as possible.
• Proficiency in and/or ability to learn analytical and/or quantitative skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in or ability to learn the Microsoft Office Suite or comparable applications, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
