Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage day to day accounting operations
- Prepare, review, and maintain the general ledger, journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and account reconciliations
- Review and reconcile daily sales transactions
- Supervise purchase accounting process, including verification of supplier invoices and payment approvals
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Prepare and authorize payment schedules
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual bank reconciliations
- Monitor and control inventory accounting, conduct periodic physical stock verification
- Coordinate and review monthly payroll calculations, salary provisions, deductions, leave salary, gratuity
- Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns in accordance with UAE VAT regulations

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, cash flow reports
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, CA, or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of accounting experience, preferably within the UAE
- Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations, corporate accounting, financial reporting, and compliance
- Sound understanding of accounting standards, bookkeeping, internal controls, and financial management
- Experience in inventory accounting, payroll accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, ERP systems, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills
- High level of accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail

Job Summary
- The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, managing financial reporting, VAT compliance, inventory accounting, payroll support, banking activities, and statutory requirements.
- The role also provides financial analysis and strategic support to management while ensuring compliance with UAE accounting standards, VAT regulations, and internal control procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee and manage the day to day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Prepare, review, and maintain the general ledger, journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and account reconciliations.
- Review and reconcile daily sales transactions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper accounting treatment.
- Supervise the purchase accounting process, including verification of supplier invoices, payment approvals, and reconciliation of supplier accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely collections and payments.
- Prepare and authorize payment schedules, including cheques, bank transfers, and other payment methods while maintaining adequate cash flow.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual bank reconciliations and ensure all balances are accurately recorded.
- Monitor and control inventory accounting, conduct periodic physical stock verification, reconcile inventory records, and investigate stock variances.
- Coordinate and review monthly payroll calculations, salary provisions, deductions, leave salary, gratuity, and other employee related accounting entries.
- Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns in accordance with UAE VAT regulations, ensuring timely compliance and proper maintenance of supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable UAE financial, tax, and regulatory requirements and coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and government authorities when required.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, cash flow reports, and financial analyses for management decision making.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, CA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of accounting experience, preferably within the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations, corporate accounting, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Sound understanding of accounting standards, bookkeeping, internal controls, and financial management.
- Experience in inventory accounting, payroll accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Ability to independently prepare financial statements and VAT returns.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (such as Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, ERP systems, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
