Senior Accountant

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and financial transactions.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Prepare invoices, payment records, receipts, and other accounting documents.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Monitor expenses, project costs, and budgets.
• Track construction project expenses, subcontractor payments, material costs, and related financial information.
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and external accountants or auditors.
• Assist with payroll-related accounting activities and statutory requirements where applicable.
• Maintain documentation and filing of financial records.
• Support tax preparation and statutory compliance requirements.
• Identify discrepancies, resolve accounting issues, and perform other duties required by management.

Required qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field is required.
• At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices is required.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and basic financial reporting, is required.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, analytical ability, and time management are required.
• The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively, communicate well, and handle confidential financial information.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Tally, QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, SAP, or similar accounting systems is advantageous.
• Construction industry accounting experience is preferred.
• IT industry accounting experience is preferred.
• Project accounting, job costing, subcontractor accounts, purchase orders, project expenses, and cost tracking experience is preferred.
• Experience in an IT or services-based business environment is preferred.
• A professional accounting qualification or relevant certification is advantageous.

Compensation

• Pay is ₹25,000 to ₹50,000 per month.
