Job Summary

The employer is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with 10–20 years of accounting experience.

The role manages accounting operations, financial reporting, project accounting, cash flow, payables and receivables, and UAE compliance.

Experience in MEP contracting, construction, or engineering companies in the UAE is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records.
Prepare financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and variance analysis.
Handle payables, receivables, supplier and customer reconciliations, collections, retention amounts, and project payments.
Monitor project costs, revenue, expenses, profitability, and accounting treatment for MEP project elements.
Coordinate invoices, LPOs, subcontractor payments, payment certificates, and project costs with internal teams.
Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor company cash positions.
Manage bank reconciliations, petty cash, journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
Ensure UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and other applicable financial compliance.
Coordinate with external auditors and provide financial schedules and supporting documents.
Maintain records, improve internal accounting controls, and supervise and guide junior accounting staff.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
10–20 years of accounting experience with substantial UAE experience.
Strong knowledge of project accounting and construction or contracting accounting.
Good knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax requirements.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience with accounting or ERP software and advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge.
Experience dealing with suppliers, customers, subcontractors, auditors, and banks.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and meet strict reporting deadlines.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Previous experience in MEP contracting, construction, engineering, or project-based companies.
Minimum 15+ years of UAE experience is preferred.
Strong understanding of project costing and profitability.
Experience handling subcontractor and supplier accounts.
Ability to supervise accounting staff.
Candidates currently in the UAE and ready to join immediately are preferred.
