Salasa is seeking a commercially minded Senior Accountant focused on Costing and Business Finance.
The role works closely with warehouse Operations and Finance to establish visibility over productivity, resource consumption, operational cost drivers, and unit economics.
The successful candidate will translate warehouse activity into financial information and insights for pricing, productivity, capacity, and profitability decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed costing models across receiving, quality control, put-away, storage, picking, packing, packaging, manpower, utilities, technology, delivery, rent, and depreciation.
- Calculate costs per item, bin, order, shipment, customer, and warehouse activity.
- Develop customer-level direct costs, cost-to-serve, resource consumption, contribution margin, and capacity consumed.
- Maintain allocation methodologies for shared warehouse costs using operational cost drivers.
- Measure warehouse productivity, labor costs, packaging costs, courier costs, throughput, and capacity utilization.
- Reconcile headcount, attendance, productive hours, output, and manpower costs across labor categories, overtime, shifts, and idle capacity.
- Build warehouse utilization and capacity models and quantify financial impacts of operational changes.
- Prepare weekly and monthly operational finance dashboards and variance analysis.
- Provide costing analysis for pricing, contract renewals, customer negotiations, and improvement initiatives.
- Validate assumptions against actual performance and improve data quality, controls, and reporting automation.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 6–8 years of relevant experience in cost accounting or management accounting.
- A professional qualification such as CMA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Experience in warehousing, logistics, fulfillment, manufacturing, FMCG, distribution, or another high-volume operational environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of activity-based costing, cost allocation, unit economics, and operational productivity measurement.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong financial modeling skills are required.
- Power BI or similar visualization experience is preferred.
- Experience with ERP or WMS systems and large operational datasets is advantageous.
- Strong business partnering skills and willingness to work closely with warehouse teams are required.
