About the Role
Manage the day-to-day accounts and financial operations of a Sharjah trading company dealing in refurbished and used electronics.
The role covers cash flow, banking, suppliers, customers, inventory costing, import and export expenses, VAT, payroll, and monthly reporting.
The position reports to the owner or managing director and requires independent, hands-on work.
Work Arrangement
- Full-time, office-based role in Sharjah, UAE.
- Working hours are 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, including a long break.
- The weekly day off is Friday.
Cash and Payments
- Manage daily cash, bank accounts, transfers, cheques, and LC/TT payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts, cash books, petty cash, and supplier and customer accounts.
- Record supplier invoices, arrange payments, prepare customer invoices, and follow up on outstanding balances.
Import and Inventory Costing
- Calculate landed costs for imported goods, including freight, customs duty, insurance, clearing, and shipping charges.
- Track import shipments from purchase through final stock costing.
- Record foreign currency transactions and monitor exchange-rate impact.
- Reconcile inventory records with warehouse stock and accounting records.
- Include refurbishment, repair, and freight costs in product margin calculations.
Reporting and Compliance
- Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and management summaries.
- Monitor margins by product, shipment, or category.
- Manage UAE VAT records, filings, and payments.
- Maintain accurate books, supporting documents, and audit records.
- Process payroll and staff payments, including WPS requirements.
Coordination
- Liaise with banks, customs brokers, clearing agents, auditors, and tax consultants.
- Provide management with updates on cash flow, costs, risks, and business performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience.
- Good knowledge of UAE VAT and general UAE accounting requirements.
- Experience with import costing, customs duty, freight, and multi-currency transactions.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Ability to manage the accounts function independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a senior, sole-charge, trading, import/export, or electronics accounting role.
- Arabic, Urdu, or Hindi language ability.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary is negotiable based on experience, with pay from AED 3,500 per month.
