About the role
The Senior Accountant is a hands-on contributor reporting to the Controller.
The role supports accounting, tax, and financial reporting functions in a multi-entity, multi-currency SaaS environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare consolidations, working papers, schedules, and management reports.
- Lead intercompany accounting and reconciliation across subsidiaries.
- Prepare capitalized labour and amortization records for internally developed intangible assets.
- Process related-entity cross-charges and weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Process payroll updates and verify final payroll reports.
- Support audits, financial reviews, financial statements, MD&A, and notes to financial statements.
- Prepare technical accounting analyses and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial analysis.
- Prepare HST/QST filings and respond to tax notices and government audit inquiries.
- Coordinate information for corporate tax return preparation.
- Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Contribute to finance projects and initiatives.
Candidate qualifications
- University degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.
- CPA designation or equivalent accounting designation.
- At least three years of progressive finance and accounting experience in a multi-entity and multi-currency SaaS environment.
- Strong full-cycle accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Strong IFRS and technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS 16, IFRS 9, IAS 38, and consolidated financial statements.
- Experience with GST/HST and QST filings.
- Knowledge of foreign exchange accounting and intercompany eliminations.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
- Previous experience with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, or Salesforce is preferred.
Compensation
- This is a full-time position with an expected salary of $72,000 to $85,000 CAD annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
