Senior Accountant

What Your Schedule Looks Like

• This role is designed to provide maximum flexibility with a predictable monthly scope of work.
• The engagement is approximately 40 hours per month , with most work concentrated around:
• 🧾 Daily: Brief transaction review and sync in QuickBooks Online
• 💵 Twice monthly: Payroll journal entries
• 📊 Month-end: Monthly close and financial reporting
• The monthly close should be completed within the first week of the following month , but you’ll have flexibility in how you manage those hours. Evening and weekend work is completely acceptable when it fits your schedule.
• As you become familiar with our systems and processes, we anticipate the close becoming increasingly efficient.

Required Qualifications

• Active CPA license in good standing in any U.S. state
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Demonstrated experience independently managing month-end close
• Strong knowledge of accrual-based accounting and U.S. GAAP
• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online
• Experience preparing complete financial statements
• Strong account reconciliation and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• U.S.-based

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare industry experience, particularly behavioral health, medical practice, or healthcare services
• Grant accounting experience
• Contract revenue accounting experience
• Experience supporting external audits
• Previous experience as a fractional or contract accountant for a growth-stage organization

Compensation & Engagement

• $60–$75 per hour , based on experience, healthcare accounting background, and depth of close and audit experience.
• This is an independent contractor (1099) engagement with no benefits. The anticipated scope is approximately 40 hours per month , billed monthly. Any additional project work will be agreed upon in advance.
