Security Officer Visitor Screening

Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.

Monitor entry and exit points; verify authorization, credentials, and visitor documentation; and control access in accordance with established post orders.

Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and delivery logs; issue and recover authorized access credentials and/or temporary passes as directed.

Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel.

Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
