Security Guard – Tactical Retail Operations

Position Overview

Pay

• The pay rate is $21.00 to $22.40 per hour.

Schedule

• The schedule is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 to 21:30 and Sunday from 11:00 to 18:30.
• The position is full-time.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence and conduct regular patrols throughout the retail location.
• Deter and respond to theft, unauthorized activity, vandalism, and other security concerns.
• Monitor for suspicious activity and respond professionally to incidents and calls for service.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors while supporting loss prevention procedures.
• Enforce site security policies and assist with access control and entry and exit monitoring.
• De-escalate challenging situations and complete accurate incident reports and daily logs.
• Report hazards and security concerns, contact emergency services, and assist with emergency response.
• Work with site management and Allied Universal supervisors to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• At least 1–2 years of security experience is required; retail, commercial, or high-traffic experience is preferred.
• A valid Ontario Security Guard License and valid First Aid and CPR certification are required.
• Customer service, communication, observation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills are required.
• Candidates must write clear incident reports, remain active throughout the shift, work independently, and make sound decisions.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Retail security, loss prevention, tactical security, and experience handling theft or aggressive incidents are preferred.
