Security Guard

The Security Guard protects the guests, employees, property, and assets of the Moapa Paiute Travel Plaza and the Moapa Band of Paiute Indians.

Working assigned shifts, security maintains a visible, professional presence throughout the plaza, parking lots, and surrounding grounds.

The guard deters and responds to theft, disturbances, and safety hazards; enforces plaza policies and applicable laws; and provides courteous assistance to travelers.

The position requires sound judgment, strong observation skills, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

• Patrol the interior and exterior of the travel plaza on foot, monitoring for suspicious activity, safety hazards, and policy or code violations.
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, loitering, and disorderly conduct.
• Monitor access points; document and report unusual activity.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, medical situations, taking appropriate action and notifying supervisors and emergency services as needed.
• Enforce plaza rules and applicable federal, state, and tribal laws, including age-restricted sales policies for tobacco and other regulated products.
• De-escalate conflicts and disturbances calmly and professionally; remove or detain individuals only when warranted and in accordance with policy and law.
• Assist guests and employees with directions, vehicle lockouts, escorts, lost-and-found items, and other reasonable requests.
