About the role
The Security Team secures Sentry’s customers, code, and internal environment.
The role spans detection and response, corporate security, preventative controls, identity and access management, investigations, and incident response.
The engineer will work cross-functionally with autonomy on a small, high-trust security team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, improve, and own detection engineering systems.
- Perform investigations and contribute to security incident response.
- Contribute to, maintain, and operate identity and access management systems.
- Research, identify, and respond to emerging threats.
- Work across application security, infrastructure security, governance, and privacy projects.
Qualifications
- Have 2 or more years of industry experience in detection and response, corporate security, or generalist security engineering.
- Have a Computer Science or related degree, equivalent training, or professional experience.
- Have hands-on experience with several listed detection, response, investigation, identity, access, or endpoint security practices.
- Be comfortable programming in at least one language, with Python preferred.
- Be familiar with distributed cloud technology and corporate or defensive security tooling.
- Bring collaborative problem-solving skills and strong written and verbal communication.
Compensation
- The stated base salary range is CA$162,000 to CA$420,000.
- The role may include incentive compensation, equity grants, paid time off, and group health insurance coverage.
Workplace
