Position summary
InterScripts is seeking a Security Engineer to support and enhance its Cybersecurity Program.
The role protects information systems, network infrastructure, and organizational data through security engineering and compliance activities.
Key responsibilities
- Support and improve the Information Security Program.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk assessments, and security reviews.
- Maintain security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Manage incidents and coordinate remediation.
- Design cybersecurity strategies and security architectures.
- Identify system security requirements and recommend solutions.
- Configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain security tools and infrastructure.
- Monitor networks and systems for breaches and suspicious activity.
- Develop preventive measures and improve security controls.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with teams, vendors, and stakeholders on security risks.
Required technical skills
- Information security, cybersecurity, and security operations.
- Vulnerability management, risk management, incident response, and security monitoring.
- Governance, risk, and compliance knowledge, including HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, and NIST; NIST is preferred.
- Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems.
- Security architecture, security controls, cloud security, and security tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Healthcare information security experience is preferred.
- Third-party risk assessment and due diligence experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of applications, databases, middleware, and related security controls.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Education and certifications
- A bachelor's degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience is accepted.
- A high school diploma with 5+ years of relevant experience is accepted.
- CISSP, CEH, GCIH, GSEC, or equivalent cybersecurity certifications are preferred.
