Security Aide (Part-Time)

We are presently accepting applications for the following position.

SECURITY AIDE (PART-TIME)

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent, required
• Ability to accurately write and complete reports
• Experience and training in crisis intervention, emergency medical procedures, or related fields, preferred
• Experience in school setting, preferred
• Knowledge of security measures, fire prevention and crowd control
• Ability to maintain order and to work with groups and individuals on matters of security and crisis management
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and the community
• Ability to use technology efficiently such as a computer, two-way radio, access control systems, and other devices as deemed necessary
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time including stairs

• Patrols the facilities during and after school to ensure that all occupants are engaged in appropriate activities.
• Coordinates with building Greeting Attendant to protect against illegal entry, acts of violence, vandalism, drug activity, arson, theft, etc. and checks identification of students, staff and visitors.
• Inspects windows, doors, and other points of entry to ensure they are secure.
• Approaches facility occupants who may be involved in inappropriate activities in a non-confrontational manner and ensures that they move in or out of the building without incident.
