Second Cook (Permanent, Part-Time)

Donalda Club, one of Toronto's premier private clubs, is seeking a skilled and motivated Second Cook (Line Cook) to join our culinary team.

This position requires full availability, including evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Shifts may vary.

Typical shifts are scheduled from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM or from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

As a Second Cook (Line Cook), you will:

• Prepare menu items according to standardized recipes while maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation standards.
• Work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to ensure efficient food production and service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation throughout each shift.
• Assist with the setup, presentation, and dismantling of buffets, food stations, and barbecues.
• Adhere to Toronto Public Health food safety regulations and all sanitation standards.
• Receive, store, rotate, and properly label food and non-food deliveries.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned, maintained, and shut down appropriately at the end of each shift.
• Support, mentor, and assist junior kitchen staff and culinary trainees as required.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and professional kitchen environment.

The successful candidate will possess:

• 2 to 3 years of cooking experience in a high-volume, quality-focused kitchen.
• Post-secondary culinary training (required).
• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Valid Food Handler Certification (required).
• Smart Serve Certification (preferred but not required).
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
