Sea Freight Operations Executive

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Handle sea freight import and export shipments from booking through final delivery.
• Manage FCL and LCL shipments.
• Obtain competitive rates from shipping lines, NVOCCs, and overseas agents.
• Coordinate bookings, container release, transportation, customs clearance, and delivery.
• Prepare and verify bills of lading, shipping instructions, manifests, pre-alerts, and other documentation.
• Monitor vessel schedules and provide customers with regular shipment updates.
• Follow up on free time, demurrage, detention, port storage, and other operational matters.
• Maintain shipment records and book all costs correctly.
• Resolve delays and operational issues promptly.

Requirements

• Minimum three years of sea freight experience in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE ports, customs procedures, shipping lines, and documentation.
• Practical experience handling both FCL and LCL shipments.
• Experience with import, export, cross-trade, and door-to-door shipments.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Strong communication, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be currently available in the UAE.
• Immediate joining or availability within a short timeframe is preferred.
