About the Role
BWXT Medical Ltd. is seeking a Scientist - Product Lead to drive the design, development, and commercialization of medical isotope products. You will lead R&D initiatives, manage full product lifecycle, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
- Drive identification, strategic planning, and execution of advanced R&D initiatives that push the boundaries of innovation
- Lead the full product development lifecycle from initial concept through successful market launch, meeting rigorous industry standards and exceeding customer expectations
- Collaborate seamlessly with marketing, regulatory, and operations teams to define comprehensive product specifications and deliverables
- Prepare detailed project estimates, timelines, and risk assessments to ensure transparent, accountable project management
- Mentor and inspire project teams, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and continuous innovation
- Conduct impactful assessments of process changes and partner with quality assurance to support justified quality dispositions
- Engage hands on in technical work during critical project phases and product validations, driving scientific rigor and success
- Manage project budgets, including direct and indirect costs, and supervise assigned staff to meet objectives effectively
- Coordinate cross functional efforts internally and externally to ensure smooth project execution
- Provide expert technical assistance, including evaluating impacts on validated product states and guiding quality decisions
- Represent the company on national and international committees, panels, and study groups
- Serve as a Technical Design Authority when assigned, approving procedures, technical reports, and specifications within your expertise
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Science or Engineering, plus at least 5 years of relevant technical experience
- Fully proficient technical knowledge within a scientific specialty (physics, chemistry, biochemistry, metallurgy) and appreciation of basic principles in peripheral fields
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a track record of successful product management and team collaboration
- Detailed knowledge of relevant company policies and procedures
- Understanding of factors that contribute to team success and how team activities impact other teams
- Ability to solve varied and complex problems, occasionally requiring modification of existing concepts while complying with regulations/standards
- Strong analytical skills with ability to solve complex problems creatively while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and quality expectations
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences and facilitating discussions around project and product improvements

Required Qualifications

Base Salary Range
- The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA ON) is expected to be between $CAD 89,000.00 and $CAD 139,000.00 per year.
