Scientific Software Engineer

Experience with Python, Fortran, C, C++, containerization such as Docker or Singularity, CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD, and cross‑platform HPC or cloud workflows

Experience writing, enhancing, or optimizing source code for scientific applications, numerical solvers, or coupled Earth‑system models

Experience gathering technical requirements, supporting workflow integration, and automating multi‑step systems such as UFS, HYCOM, MOM6, or JEDI‑based applications

Experience using automated testing tools, scientific verification methods such as MMS, or performance‑profiling utilities to support robust system development

Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Modeling, or a related field preferred; Doctorate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Modeling, or a related field a plus
