Role Overview
GEMS American Academy in Qatar is seeking a Middle-High School Science (Biology) / Math (Algebra) Teacher for its High School team.
The joining date is immediate or as soon as possible.
Teaching and Learning
- Deliver the required curriculum with accurate and current knowledge of the curriculum and subject matter.
- Plan and deliver quality lessons using suitable materials and classroom environments for different learning styles.
- Teach students according to their individual needs and abilities, including late-entering, ESL, low-achieving, gifted, and talented students.
- Set and mark work and assess, record, and report academic progress and attainment.
- Use assessment to ensure the curriculum meets individual student needs and use media and technology competently in the classroom.
Student Support and School Life
- Promote student progress and wellbeing and provide guidance on educational matters.
- Monitor and supervise safe and appropriate student behavior and implement strategies supporting self-discipline.
- Communicate with parents about student progress while respecting confidentiality.
- Work with colleagues on teaching resources, courses of study, and pastoral arrangements.
- Participate in or lead co-curricular and extracurricular programs and assist with school events.
