Overview
Performing routine laboratory functions to support scientific experiments and investigations.
Must be proficient in all 3 Sciences: Chemistry, Physics and Biology
Must have working knowledge (Or willing to be trained) of all Physics, Biology and Chemistry apparatus/ equipment, Chemicals, Reagents and resources, from Key stage 3 up to and including A levels.
Setting up, testing, adjusting, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment and apparatus.
Collecting and preparing samples, solutions, cultures and specimens and ensuring safe disposals of waste.
Clearing away of used practical equipment and materials from the labs after practical work has been done.
Purchasing and ordering of chemicals and other consumables required on a weekly basis
Enforcing strict health and safety regulations as stipulated by CLEAPPS.
Staying up to date with relevant scientific developments that can improve the efficiency of lab operations.
