School Social Worker

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Provide social, emotional, and pastoral support to primary-aged students.
• Identify and support students experiencing social, emotional, behavioural, or family-related challenges.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, school leaders, and parents to develop appropriate support strategies and intervention plans.
• Conduct meetings with parents to discuss student wellbeing, attendance, behaviour, and safeguarding concerns.
• Support student attendance, behaviour management, and safeguarding processes.
• Maintain accurate, confidential student records and reports.
• Liaise with relevant external agencies and professionals where required.
• Deliver wellbeing initiatives, awareness programmes, and student support sessions.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related field.
• Relevant experience working as a Social Worker, Counsellor, or Student Support professional, preferably within a school setting.
• Experience working with primary-aged children.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and student wellbeing practices.
• Ability to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• English and Arabic language proficiency required
