About the Role

The Principal’s Office and Administration Manager provides high-level administrative and organisational support to the Principal and School Leadership Team.

The role manages confidential information, communications, schedules, records, reception, and key administrative processes.

The post holder leads the secretarial and reception team and coordinates with staff, parents, students, government bodies, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and school policies.
  • Model the school’s values and contribute positively to the school community.
  • Participate in weekly service and/or character development activities alongside pupils.
  • Support school and community events, including occasional evenings, Fridays, and weekends.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and commitment to high standards.
  • Undertake other duties reasonably required by the School.
  • Administrative staff undertake at least one service or character activity each week.

Required Skills

  • Manage the Principal’s and School Leadership Team’s calendars, meetings, correspondence, and minutes.
  • Prepare reports, Board papers, presentations, and other leadership documentation.
  • Ensure effective communication between the Principal, School Leadership Team, staff, parents, and the Board.
  • Manage the school office, secretarial, and reception functions.

Preferred Skills

  • Act as a key point of contact for staff, parents, students, and visitors.
  • Provide professional reception and hospitality for the Principal and School.
  • Manage correspondence, enquiries, and daily communications.
  • Support school events, publicity, and community activities.

Requirements

  • Experience managing calendars, meetings, correspondence, and minutes for a Principal or senior leadership team.
  • Ability to prepare reports, Board papers, presentations, and other leadership documentation.
  • Ability to manage school office, secretarial, and reception functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the Principal, School Leadership Team, staff, parents, students, and the Board.
  • Ability to act as a key contact for staff, parents, students, and visitors.
  • Professional reception and hospitality skills for the Principal and School.
  • Flexibility, initiative, and commitment to high standards.
