The company is seeking an experienced Sales and Procurement Executive for ship chandling and marine trading.
The role combines marine trading, ship chandling procurement, industrial equipment sales, supplier sourcing, and customer development.
The position supports competitive sourcing, supplier negotiation, and conversion of customer enquiries into profitable sales.
Sales and Business Development
- Develop business with vessel owners, ship managers, ship chandlers, marine and offshore companies, oil and gas companies, contractors, and industrial clients.
- Generate enquiries through visits, calls, email, WhatsApp, online platforms, and industry networks.
- Follow up on quotations and enquiries to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Build relationships with purchasing, procurement, fleet, and technical decision makers.
- Identify market opportunities, expand the UAE customer base, and convert enquiries into confirmed orders.
Ship Chandling and Procurement
- Handle day-to-day ship chandling procurement and marine equipment sourcing.
- Source marine supplies, spare parts, safety equipment, PPE, tools, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, hardware, welding, and industrial consumables.
- Compare supplier quotations based on price, quality, specifications, availability, and delivery time.
- Develop supplier networks and identify alternatives for competitive pricing and faster delivery.
- Negotiate supplier prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate urgent vessel supply requirements and timely procurement and delivery.
Quotations and Order Management
- Prepare accurate and competitive sales quotations according to company pricing policies.
- Review customer specifications, RFQs, and material requirements before submitting offers.
- Coordinate purchase orders, supplier confirmations, delivery schedules, and material collection.
- Track orders from enquiry through procurement, delivery, and invoicing.
- Maintain quotation, purchase order, supplier offer, and procurement records.
- Coordinate with Accounts, Stores, Operations, Logistics, and Management.
Market Research and Reporting
- Research customers, suppliers, and business opportunities using digital platforms and maritime networks.
- Maintain a pipeline of marine, ship chandling, offshore, oil and gas, and industrial prospects.
- Monitor competitor pricing, market trends, and supplier developments.
- Prepare sales and procurement reports and track conversion, savings, performance, and outstanding quotations.
- Assist inventory planning by identifying frequently requested products and stock requirements.
Product and Technical Knowledge
- Develop product knowledge across marine equipment, ship chandling supplies, industrial tools, safety equipment, welding products, electrical materials, plumbing, HVAC, lubricants, PPE, and lifting equipment.
- Understand customer specifications, technical requirements, and material descriptions.
- Recommend products based on specification, application, certification, and availability.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of UAE experience in a relevant sales, procurement, marine trading, ship chandling, or industrial equipment field.
- Hands-on ship chandling procurement and marine or industrial product sourcing experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of UAE marine suppliers, industrial distributors, ship chandlers, and relevant products is required.
