What impact you will make
Build and manage a pipeline of commercial project opportunities within your assigned territory.
Identify and qualify new opportunities using Barbour ABI, market intelligence and proactive prospecting.
Develop relationships with contractors, sub-contractors, developers, merchants and other key decision-makers.
Generate new business through outbound calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn and other business development activities.
Review project enquiries, drawings and specifications to assess suitability and commercial opportunity.
Work closely with Estimating to ensure opportunities are accurately scoped and progressed.
Follow up quotations, handle customer queries and maximise quote-to-order conversion.
Support tender submissions and manage opportunities through customer procurement portals.
Collaborate with Technical Sales Managers to develop customers and secure new projects.
Maintain accurate opportunity, pipeline and customer records within Salesforce.
Provide regular sales pipeline updates, forecasts and commercial insights.
What you need to succeed
Experience in a sales, business development, internal sales, commercial support or customer account management role.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Confidence in making outbound calls and developing new business opportunities.
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Experience using Salesforce or another CRM system.
Previous experience within construction products, building materials, joinery, doorsets or a related industry would be advantageous.
Experience reading construction drawings and specifications would be beneficial but is not essential.
