About The Role
We are an Abu Dhabi–based oil & gas equipment trading, packaging, and services company seeking a Sales Engineer – Electrical to drive sales of electrical equipment, engineered packages, and associated services to ADNOC Group companies, UAE-based EPC contractors, consultants, and other end users in the oil & gas sector. The role manages the complete sales cycle — from inquiry generation through technical clarification, vendor coordination, proposal preparation, negotiation, and order closure — while building lasting client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue opportunities with ADNOC Group entities (ADNOC Onshore, ADNOC Offshore, ADNOC Gas, ADNOC Refining, ADNOC Sour Gas, Borouge, Fertiglobe) and UAE-based EPCs, consultants, and operators.
- Review project specifications, datasheets, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and Invitations to Bid (ITBs); coordinate with principals and OEMs to develop fully compliant technical and commercial offers.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals; manage technical queries (TQs) and clarification rounds through all bid stages until award.
- Drive vendor registration and approval activities with ADNOC and other UAE end users; maintain and expand Approved Vendor List (AVL) status for represented brands and product lines.
- Conduct techno-commercial negotiations and close orders within agreed margin targets.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, procurement, projects, and after-sales teams to ensure packaging scope, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and on-time delivery commitments are met.
- Maintain an accurate project tracker, CRM pipeline, and sales forecast; provide weekly/monthly reporting on opportunities, bookings, win/loss analysis, and market intelligence.
- Build and nurture relationships with project managers, procurement, engineering, and asset-owner contacts across customer organisations.
- Represent the company at client meetings, technical presentations, plant visits, exhibitions, and industry forums within the UAE.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- 2 – 5 years of techno-commercial sales experience in the oil & gas sector, with a demonstrable track record of selling electrical equipment in the UAE market.
- Existing exposure to or relationships with ADNOC Group companies, UAE EPCs (such as NPCC, Tecnimont, Petrofac, Target Engineering, Tecnicas Reunidas, Galfar, Dodsal, McDermott), and project consultants is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of the following electrical product portfolio relevant to oil & gas: Power, control, and instrumentation cables
- LV and MV switchgear
- Power, distribution, and dry-type transformers
- LV and MV motors
• Motor Control Centres (MCCs)
- Control and instrumentation panels
- Hazardous area (Ex) certified equipment — ATEX / IECEx
- E-houses and packaged power solutions
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems
- Heat tracing systems
- Industrial and hazardous-area lighting
- Familiarity with applicable industry standards and end-user specifications: IEC, IEEE, NEMA, ATEX / IECEx, and ADNOC specifications (AGES / SP series).
- Strong commercial acumen including BOQ pricing, INCOTERMS, payment terms (LCs, advance, milestone), and margin management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Valid UAE driving licence.
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience with a UAE-based trading, packaging, or representation house, or as a regional sales representative for an OEM serving the oil & gas sector.
- Proven success in securing vendor approvals and pre-qualifications with ADNOC OPCOs or comparable UAE end users.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-principal environment.
- Willingness to travel within the UAE and occasionally across the GCC.
