The Opportunity
Site-based Safety Training Advisor role on the AVMA Shaft Project at Appin, combining hands-on safety advice and field presence with responsibility for the site safety training and competency program.
The role is evenly split between field safety activities and delivering and assessing competencies in the training room and shaft environment.
The position suits an underground or shaft mining safety training professional who can provide field safety advice and conduct competency assessments.
Employment and Roster
- Permanent full-time position on a 15/13 roster with an established back-to-back arrangement.
Safety Responsibilities
- Provide safety advice to supervisors, crews and contractors across surface and shaft operations.
- Complete inspections, safety observations and field leadership activities, and close out resulting actions.
- Contribute to risk assessments, JSA reviews and pre-start hazard identification.
- Investigate incidents and hazard reports, identify causal factors and verify corrective actions.
- Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings, support health and safety representatives, and participate in audits and assurance activities.
