Description
We are looking for a Safety & Risk Officer to join our Security & Risk team at Holiday Inn Riyadh Rose Yard. The successful candidate will support the hotel's safety and risk management operations by conducting routine inspections, identifying potential hazards, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with IHG standards, health and safety regulations, and emergency procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of hotel facilities to identify safety hazards and potential risks.
- Monitor compliance with hotel safety policies, fire and life safety procedures, and local regulatory requirements.
- Assist in responding to emergencies, including fire alarms, medical incidents, accidents, and security-related events.
- Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and document findings accurately.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend corrective and preventive actions to minimize operational risks.
- Monitor fire protection equipment, emergency exits, safety signage, and other life safety systems.
- Support emergency drills, evacuation exercises, and safety awareness initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and safety compliance activities.
- Promote safe working practices and assist departments in maintaining a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with internal departments to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with IHG policies, local health and safety regulations, and internal risk management procedures.
- Perform other safety and risk-related duties as assigned by the Risk & Safety Supervisor or Hotel Management.
- Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Security Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Safety, Security, Risk Management, or Hotel Operations, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, fire and life safety systems, and emergency response procedures.
- Health & Safety certification (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Strong observation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively during emergencies.
- High attention to detail with a proactive approach to workplace safety.
