Description

Amazon is seeking a workplace health and safety professional to support its fulfillment center in Riyadh.

The WHS position reports to the WHS Manager and drives health and safety across the site.

WHS Programs and Risk Control

  • Lead site risk assessments for current and new activities.
  • Establish the site WHS training matrix.
  • Lead implementation of site-specific WHS standards, guidelines, objectives, and programs.
  • Promote a safe culture through daily WHS content in shift briefings.
  • Conduct site safety audits and work with Operations to eliminate risks and prevent injuries.

Incidents and Compliance

  • Attend incidents and occupational injury cases on site.
  • Assist area managers with incident investigations, Gensuite documentation, and lessons-learned communication.
  • Support Gensuite follow-up tracking and CAPA creation.
  • Audit record-keeping practices for alignment with global WHS standards and local regulations.

Site Safety Operations

  • Maintain PPE inventory and coordinate orders with procurement.
  • Monitor weekly Key Safety Requirement audits and the Action Tracking System.
  • Participate in safety walks and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Review and sign off daily Permit to Work documentation.

Emergency Preparedness and Reporting

  • Prepare emergency response plans and manage and conduct emergency drills.
  • Prepare emergency drill training records.
  • Monitor heat index requirements and provide support for site-specific requests and unplanned events.
  • Provide daily updates to the Country WHS Manager on objectives, incidents, audits, and network actions.
  • Prepare WHS committee agendas, meeting minutes, and action tracking entries.

Basic Qualifications

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate.
  • English communication skills, written and verbal, to interact with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in emergency response.
  • At least 2 years of increasing responsibility in safety or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
  • Ability to analyze accident data, processes, and machinery and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances and direction.
