Job Summary
The Safety Officer is responsible for supporting the implementation and enforcement of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs to ensure compliance with Saudi regulations, MODON requirements, and company safety standards.
The role focuses on hazard identification, risk control, safety monitoring, incident reporting, and workforce awareness to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
Education
Requirements: Diploma in Occupational Safety, Health, or a related discipline.
Professional Safety Training Courses and Certifications in related field is an advantage.
Work Experience Requirements: 0-2 Years.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements: OSHA certification or equivalent safety qualification.
Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) – Safety Practitioner (Level 1).
Basic knowledge of MODON safety guidelines and industrial safety regulations.
Familiarity with hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident reporting.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong observation, reporting, and documentation skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and safety-focused mindset.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform routine site inspections, walk production areas, and respond to safety-related situations.
Roles, responsibilities, and authorities: Conducts thorough inspections of work areas, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and rectify potential hazards.
Draft incident/accident descriptions and promptly report them to the safety Engineer/HSSE head.
Ensures company compliance with government regulations, global standards, and enforces all EHS policies.
Record observations and implement corrective actions as needed.
Assists in developing comprehensive risk assessments based on plant history, international standards, regulations, and similar industry activities.
Enhances employees' skills and awareness through effective training programs.
Enforce the existing training plan to enhance employee awareness and skills.
Attendees daily and weekly meetings to stay informed and contribute to safety initiatives.
Minimize risk by conducting regular safety patrols and follow up to ensure the implementation of corrective actions.
Conducts monthly inspections for fire extinguishers and first aid boxes.
Inspect safety equipment regularly to ensure functionality and compliance.
Conducts induction training for new employees.
Create and share safe work instructions with shopfloor employees.
Conduct daily Toolbox Talks (TBT) to reinforce safety protocols.
Prepares safety reports as requested, contributing to a proactive safety culture within the organization.
