Safety Officer (HSE Officer)

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor **HSE policies and procedures** on site.
• Ensure compliance with **Qatar Labour Law, QCS (Qatar Construction Specifications), and HSE regulations**.
• Conduct **daily site safety inspections** and identify hazards.
• Prepare and maintain **risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safety reports**.
• Conduct **toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions** for workers and staff.
• Monitor proper use of **PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)**.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors on safety matters.
• Ensure proper **permit-to-work systems** are followed.
• Maintain HSE documentation and records for audits and inspections.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Minimum **3–5 years of experience** as a Safety Officer in construction/fit-out projects (GCC experience preferred).
• Mandatory certifications:
• **NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate)**
• OSHA or equivalent safety certification (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of **Qatar HSE regulations and standards**.
• Ability to prepare safety documentation and reports.
• Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
• Ability to work under pressure and on multiple project sites.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in high-rise building, MEP, or interior fit-out projects.
• Knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
