Role Description

  • The Safety Manager is a full time, on site role based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the company’s health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in line with ISO and OHSAS standards, as well as local regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits on MEP, substation, and maintenance projects, identify hazards, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Deliver safety training, conduct toolbox talks, review risk assessments and method statements, and ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations, prepare reports, analyze root causes, and collaborate closely with project teams to foster a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in Occupational Health and Industrial Safety within construction, MEP, or electromechanical contracting environments.
  • Proficiency in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) management, including implementation of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 (or ISO 45001) requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in Safety Training, including developing training materials, conducting safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher sessions.
  • Proven capability in Accident Investigation, including incident reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) and a diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with UAE safety regulations and standards applicable to construction and electromechanical works.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels in safe work practices.
  • Ability to work on site across multiple project locations, manage priorities under time constraints.
