Role Overview

The Safety, Health & Wellbeing Lead supports operations across Victoria and Tasmania as a trusted safety and wellbeing partner.

The role works autonomously with field operations to prevent accidents, ensure statutory compliance, and deliver the Safety, Health & Wellbeing Strategy.

Regular intrastate travel and occasional interstate travel are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with operational leaders, Brand Managers, and site teams to integrate safety and health into daily operations.
  • Conduct Category 1 and 2 ICAM investigations, assist with Category 3 and 4 reviews, and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive physical and mental health initiatives across the region.
  • Support the Safety Management System, self-insurance audits, regulatory compliance, and regulator engagement.
  • Analyse incident trends and create risk assessments, safety alerts, work instructions, and improvement initiatives.
  • Inspect new sites, coach teams during onboarding, and deliver interactive WHS training.

Essential Criteria

  • At least a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety; a Diploma is preferred.
  • ICAM Certification and a current, valid driver’s license.
  • Solid WHS experience and strong understanding of retail and/or hospitality environments.
  • Knowledge of WHS Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice, and hazard management principles.
  • Experience in root-cause investigation, safety planning, group facilitation, project execution, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Flexibility for regular travel across Victoria and Tasmania and occasional interstate travel.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of return-to-work, injury management, and recovery processes.
