Role Overview
AECOM is seeking a Safety, Health & Environment Specialist III for moderately complex environmental, safety, and health work.
The role supports compliance with ES&H standards and government regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety and health programs, systems, and procedures.
- Monitor work areas and prevent hazards and occupational diseases.
- Investigate accidents, injuries, and workplace hazard complaints.
- Recommend improvements to processes, designs, procedures, and operating equipment.
- Develop and conduct employee training and emergency preparedness activities.
- Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
- Lead HSE specialists or support personnel when needed.
- Administer an HSE program on a small or medium-sized project when needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH IGC or IOSH Managing Safely are listed for the role.
- Typically 12 or more years of HSE experience, including 3 to 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong experience with large-scale infrastructure, rail, transportation, construction, or engineering projects.
- NEBOSH Diploma is preferred.
- CSP or an equivalent certification is advantageous.
Onboarding Requirement
- New hires must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
