Responsibilities
- Assist in development of Project Safety, Health and Environment Plan (PSHEP)
- Monitor construction activities against health, safety and security management plan
- Provide SHE expertise and ensure compliance with corporate SHE requirements
- Provide technical supervision of SHE performance and programs
- Assist and participate in SHE training
- Check safety requirements in Method Statements and monitor implementation
- Check maintenance, calibration and operation of safety equipment
- Ensure equipment tested by third parties and operators have proper permits
- Check site security, fire, first aid and welfare facilities
- Participate in investigation of accidents and dangerous occurrences
- Coordinate with construction team on safety requirements
- Review contractor safety reports and produce Italconsult safety reports
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- 10 years of engineering experience
- NEBOSH IGC/NGC certification
- IOSH Managing Safely or IOSH Working Safety certification
- Safety Management Qualification – ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
- OSHA certification
- MMUP certification preferred

Main Duties
- Assists in the development of the Project Safety, Health and Environment Plan (PSHEP).
- Monitor the construction activities against the requirements of the project’s health, safety and security management plan.
- Provides SHE expertise and ensures project compliance with Corporate SHE requirements.
- Provides technical supervision of SHE performance, qualifications and programs.
- Assist and participate in SHE training.
- Check safety requirements in the Method Statements and monitor the implementation during construction.
- Check proper maintenance, calibration and operation of all safety equipment.
- Check and ensure that all equipment has been tested by third parties as required and all operators have the proper permits.
- Check the site security, fire, first aid and welfare facilities.
- Participate in the investigation of all accidents and dangerous occurrences.
- Coordinate with the construction team on all activities concerning safety requirements.
- Review the Contractor safety reports and produce Italconsult Safety reports.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 10 years of engineering experience preferred.
- MMUP certification preferred.
- NEBOSH IGC/NGC preferred.
- IOSH Managing Safely/ IOSH Working Safety preferred.
- Safety Management Qualification – ISO 45001 Lead Auditor preferred.
- OSHA preferred.
