Rolling Stock Engineer

Role overview

What you will do

• Provide technical advice and support to the project team and support the Lead Rolling Stock Engineer.
• Define interface specifications for supplier design and monitor design progress and project deliverables.
• Analyze rolling stock RAMS performance and operation and maintenance requirements.
• Review and approve contractor rolling stock system and subsystem designs for compliance.
• Review specifications for HVAC, door control, propulsion, auxiliary power, wiring, automatic train control, carbody, brakes, couplers, gangways, and bogies.
• Coordinate integration with platform screen doors, signalling, telecommunications, power supply, and civil infrastructure.
• Assess train configurations, capacity, interface issues, and performance.
• Conduct technical investigations, fault analyses, site visits, and inspections.

Technical qualifications

• Expertise in rolling stock delivery and acceptance of rolling stock assets.
• Experience with rolling stock design, development, safety, RAMS, and subsystem compliance.
• Knowledge of multidisciplinary rail systems integration and rolling stock interfaces.

Project setting

• The project includes at-grade, elevated, and underground tunnel rail sections.
• Passenger rolling stock will operate under automatic operation.
• The role includes site visits and inspections to verify rolling stock work quality and progress.
