Metropolis Technologies (SP+) is hiring a Roadside Assistance Vehicle Operator in Austin to help stranded motorists with vehicle services, manage traffic incidents, and maintain roadway safety.

Responsibilities
- Help customers with vehicle services including flat tires, jumpstarts, minor repairs, and refueling
- Provide assistance to stranded motorists
- Facilitate expedient flow of traffic through the roadway
- Divert traffic from toll roads to alternate routes during major incidents
- Remove stalled vehicles from toll lanes and ramps
- Remove debris from roadway and coordinate large debris pick up
- Coordinate with DOT for alternate routes and emergency conditions
- Coordinate traffic at toll plazas to facilitate lane equipment maintenance
- Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Valid state driver's license
- Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or weekends
- Ability to read, write and interpret the English language
- Thorough knowledge of areas and landmarks surrounding toll roads
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities
- Helps customers with vehicle services, including flat tires, jumpstarts, minor repairs, and refueling.
- Provides assistance to stranded motorists.
- Facilitates the expedient flow of traffic through the roadway.
- Diverts traffic from the toll roads to alternate routes when a major incident occurs.
- Maintains a set of alternate routes and plans for implementing routes.
- Has thorough knowledge of all areas surrounding the toll road.
- Removes stalled vehicles from the toll lanes and ramps.
- Removes debris from the roadway and coordinates large debris pick up.
- Coordinates with DOT for alternate routes for emergency conditions.
- Coordinates traffic at toll plazas to facilitate lane equipment maintenance.
- Coordinates with local law enforcement agencies.
- Maintains cleanliness of vehicle.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or weekends.
- Ability to read, write and interpret the English language.
- Thorough knowledge of all areas and landmarks surrounding toll roads.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
- Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
- Ability to maintain a calm, pleasant and mannerly demeanor when speaking with the public.
- Ability to effectively respond to customer problems or complaints.
- Must be proactive with strong personal drive and proven customer service skills.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but standard written or oral instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment
- Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
- Exposure to vehicle emissions is moderate to high.
- Exposure to extreme hot/cold temperatures is moderate to high.
- Subject to all weather conditions including precipitation and wind.
- Exposure to bright sunlight and nighttime working conditions is high.
Pay
- $18/hr
