Role Description

The Roads Planning Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and optimizing road networks and related infrastructure to meet project and regulatory requirements in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Day-to-day tasks include preparing road planning studies, analyzing traffic and capacity data, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting the development of design alternatives and feasibility assessments.

The role involves contributing to project schedules, monitoring progress, and aligning road planning deliverables with overall project objectives and client expectations.

The Roads Planning Engineer will also prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation, and participate in meetings with clients, authorities, and internal stakeholders.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Qualifications

Experience

Minimum 8–10 years overall, with 3-5+ years in infrastructure projects (roads, utilities, drainage, bridges, etc.), in UAE/GCC. (UAE- RTA, boulevard, DEC Aldaoon/ GCC-Discovery garden, Golf, Furjan, Damac)

Planning Expertise: Strong ability to develop baseline and Review, detail, and resource-loaded programmes (Level 4 & 5).

Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 (mandatory), plus MS Project and advanced Excel skills.

Programme Control: Expertise in critical path analysis, , progress updating, variance analysis, and forecasting.

Delay Analysis: Hands-on experience with delay analysis techniques such as TIA, Impacted As-Planned, and As-Built vs As-Planned or as per the client Requirement.

EOT & Claims: Proven ability to prepare and assess Extension of Time (EOT) claims, including establishing cause-and-effect relationships.

Contract Knowledge: Strong understanding of FIDIC conditions, contractual notices, variations, and claims procedures.

Reporting & Coordination: Ability to prepare progress reports, S-curves, dashboards, and coordinate with client, consultant, and contractor teams.
