Responsibilities
- Prepare traffic diversion schemes and traffic management plans
- Develop construction stage detours, lane closures, temporary accesses, and work zone layouts
- Review tender documents and identify traffic risks, access constraints, authority restrictions, and staging limitations
- Prepare tender stage traffic strategies, phasing concepts, and traffic management cost/resource input
- Coordinate traffic diversions with construction methodology and project program
- Review signage, road marking, barriers, cones, pedestrian routes, temporary signals, and traffic switches
- Check traffic layouts for constructability, safety, authority compliance, and site practicality
- Coordinate traffic diversions with utility protection works, utility relocation, trial trenches, existing chambers, NOC requirements, road opening permits, temporary works, and site access
- Visit the site and check whether the proposed diversion can be implemented; confirm lane widths, barriers, access, work zones, and pedestrian routes
- Coordinate with construction, planning, HSE, QA/QC, NOC, and subcontractor teams
- Support night works, traffic switches, road closures, and urgent authority requirements
- Identify risks before implementation and propose quick practical solutions when site conditions change
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, traffic diversion, and construction stage traffic management
- UAE / GCC construction experience is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of Dubai / UAE authority requirements, especially RTA standards and traffic diversion approval procedures
