Role Overview
Parsons is seeking a Roads Design Engineer to work within a PMO on major highway and infrastructure projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Responsibilities
- Review road and highway design drawings, reports, and specifications from concept through detailed design.
- Develop and evaluate road, junction, and interchange concepts to support PMO and client decisions.
- Contribute to value engineering for highway geometry, pavement solutions, and safety features.
- Prepare engineering details, sketches, exhibits, and design clarifications.
- Review pavement design, road safety elements, supplier drawings, and technical submissions.
- Prepare coordinated technical comments and responses for PMO and client approval processes.
- Coordinate with structures, drainage, utilities, traffic, architectural, and landscape disciplines.
- Present complex design matters to internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Assess design risks, constructability, and phasing for major road and interchange schemes.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- At least 10 years of road and highway design experience, preferably on major highways and interchanges.
- Experience with geometric road design, including alignments, cross-sections, and junction layouts.
- Experience reviewing third-party designs and producing technically robust review comments.
- Working knowledge of pavement design principles and road safety engineering.
- Experience with concept development and value engineering on road and highway projects.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across disciplines.
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach with strong presentation and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a design consultancy and/or PMC/PMO environment.
- Chartered Engineer or similar status with an industry-recognized engineering body.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, InRoads, or equivalent road design tools.
- Experience participating in design review workshops, value engineering sessions, or technical coordination meetings.

- The role supports major highway and infrastructure projects in Riyadh City, within the KSA Capital.
