Role overview
The Risk Analyst will join Smart’s Risk and Privacy team and run day-to-day privacy operations involving personal data.
The role coordinates outsourced privacy consultants and supports the wider team with administration, reporting, governance, and documentation.
Smart will provide training in data protection; an interest in the subject, a methodical approach, and careful judgement are important.
Privacy operations
- Manage the privacy inbox and route or answer queries within agreed timescales.
- Coordinate data subject rights requests against the one-month statutory deadline.
- Log privacy incidents and near misses and track remediation to closure.
- Maintain incident, Record of Processing Activities, and DPIA registers so records are audit-ready.
- Support DPIA screening, business-owner input, assessment tracking, and sign-off.
- Support reviews of privacy notices, policies, procedures, retention, and training completion.
- Coordinate outsourced privacy consultants and ensure their advice is recorded and acted upon.
- Gather evidence for audits and client assurance requests.
- Prepare data for periodic privacy reporting.
